Quentin "Buch" Estey, President

A New Hampshire native, Butch Estey was born and raised in Portsmouth, NH, attended the local schools and graduated from Keene State College. Immediately after graduation, he started his career in law enforcement, which eventually spanned 28 years. He worked in a local police department before moving on to the NH State Police. He later served in the capacity of Chief of Police for a local community. After his retirement, he conducted investigations and assisted with fugitive apprehensions for the Hillsborough County Sheriff.

Mr. Estey is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and Babson College's Command Institute. His additional training comes from the NH Police Training and Standards, Federal agencies, NH State Police, St. Anselm's College and the University of Virginia. He served as President of the NH Chiefs of Police Association and on the Board of Directors for New England's Chiefs of Police.

During his law enforcement career, Mr. Estey worked on investigations ranging from bounced checks to missing persons and homicides. He conducted background investigations and worked closely with prosecutors to ensure a proper investigation and prosecution. Now, this experience and training benefit the clients of Estey Associates.

Mr. Estey is a member of the Hillsborough County Law Enforcement Association, The National Safety Council, Business Network International (BNI), New Hampshire League of Investigators (NHLI), FBI National Associates, New Hampshire Chiefs of Police, New England Chief's and National Association of Investigative Specialists (NAIS).

He was given the honor of serving on the Governor's Juvenile Justice Committee. Listed in Who's Who in Law Enforcement, he has received the President's award from NHLI three times, for maintaining a high degree of ethics and professionalism.

 

Karen Estey, Vice-President

Karen Estey brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Estey Associates. She started her career in a small NH Police Department where she reviewed and prepared reports, performed research for investigations and was responsible for establishing and maintaining court and investigative records and documents. She communicated daily with other police departments, state agencies and attorneys.

She transferred into the NH Department of Safety's title bureau where she was responsible for title searches and research for the division of motor vehicles, then joined the Division of State Police as a communications specialist. Her new responsibilities included record retrieval for the investigative division and patrol officers. She was instrumental in researching and maintaining various records while assisting not only the State Police but Federal, local and county agencies as well. Her knowledge, experience and contacts within law enforcement circles and government are a very welcome addition to Estey Associates.
